PVCFC Appoints New Deputy General Director and Completes Leadership Team at Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant
On the afternoon of July 15th, at the PVCFC Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant Branch, Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVCFC) - a member unit of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) - organized a conference to announce and hand over decisions on personnel matters, aiming to complete the leadership team of both the Corporation and the PVCFC Branch at Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant.
This important event marks a significant transformation in PVCFC's governance and strategic orientation during a new development phase, particularly as the fertilizer and energy industry faces numerous fluctuations from international markets and global energy transition trends. The leadership restructuring comes at a critical time when technological innovation and sustainable development are becoming increasingly important factors in the industry's competitiveness.
Background of Leadership Restructuring
The appointment and completion of the leadership team occur as PVCFC intensifies its digital transformation process and applies advanced technologies to production and business operations. The Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant, with a designed capacity of 1,750 tons of NH₃/day and 2,600 tons of ure/day, stands as one of the key projects in Vietnam's oil and gas sector, utilizing modern technology from Japan.
Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation was established based on the reorganization and restructuring of member units of Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PVC) according to Decision No. 2368/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister. PVCFC operates under a parent company - subsidiary model, with core business activities including production and business of fertilizers, chemicals, provision of technical services, and other related business activities.
Information on Appointed Personnel
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy General Director of PVCFC was appointed to the position of Deputy General Director concurrently serving as Director of the Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant. Mr. Nguyen Van Dung stated: "I fully recognize my responsibilities in this new phase. With the orientation of applying high technology and digital transformation, the Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant will continue to enhance production efficiency, reduce emissions, and develop sustainably, contributing to Petrovietnam's and the nation's strategies."
In addition, the conference also announced the appointment of other leadership positions at the Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant, aiming to perfect the governance structure and enhance the effectiveness of production and business operations.
Development Orientation and Technology Application
The leadership restructuring takes place as PVCFC focuses on key strategic orientations:
- Applying digital technology and automation to fertilizer production
- Developing organic fertilizers and specialized high-grade fertilizers
- Increasing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions
- Expanding export markets, especially demanding markets
- Investing in research and development of new-generation fertilizer production technologies
The Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant has been and is applying many advanced technological solutions in production, including Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and effective energy management solutions. The leadership restructuring is expected to further strongly promote the digital transformation process at the plant.
The Strategic Importance of the Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant
The Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant plays a strategic role in Vietnam's energy and agriculture ecosystem, supplying approximately 15-20% of the country's ure fertilizer demand. The plant not only ensures food security but also contributes significantly to sustainable agricultural development.
The technology applied at the plant is among the most modern in the region, with capabilities for energy saving and effective emission reduction. The plant is also one of the pioneering units in applying international environmental standards in the fertilizer production industry.
