According to the latest report from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of June 2023, public investment capital disbursement has reached approximately 300,000 billion VND, equivalent to about 35% of the annual plan. This figure demonstrates the accelerated efforts by ministries, sectors, and localities to expedite the disbursement of public investment capital.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung stated that the Government has given decisive instructions to accelerate public investment capital disbursement, considering this a priority task in 2023 to boost economic growth. According to the minister, key projects have been prioritized for disbursement to quickly realize their effectiveness.
Specifically, out of the total nearly 300,000 billion VND disbursed, capital for projects under national target programs accounts for a significant portion, followed by capital for transportation, energy, and healthcare infrastructure projects.
However, according to expert assessments, the disbursement rate remains slower than expected and planned. To achieve the goal of 100% disbursement of public investment capital in 2023, ministries, sectors, and localities need to further strengthen guidance, supervision, and troubleshooting for projects.
